Spring has brought more homes on the market and more buyers back into the market. Inventory levels hit over 100 homes on the market in a day two times last week for the metro area. We saw new-listing levels go up 18 percent over a two-week period from the end of February to last week — all fabulous signs for our house-hungry buyers locally and those relocating into our beautiful slice of heaven.
Interest rates creeping above 4 percent have been influencing homeowners wanting to jump into the market sooner rather than later. We have seen a lot of our sellers who have been in a holding pattern reach out in the past four weeks saying that because of interest rate changes they are wanting to get their home on the market sooner than expected.
